Interesting association copy, inscribed To: John Steinbeck from Selden Rodman Feb 23, 1937 on the front endpaper. On the front pastdown is the stamp "This book belongs to Carol and John Steinbeck." Carol was Steinbeck's first wife. This book is not listed in DeMott's book "Steinbeck's Reading." Seldom seen signed by Rodman who was the co-founder and editor of "Common Sense."
